Peggy Ann Bullard Heflin, age 71, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 3,
2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Sunday, April
6, 2014, at
3:00 PM
at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Avery
officiating. A private interment will follow at Brooksville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Heflin was born February 6, 1943, in Booneville, MS, to the late
Talmadge A. and Pauline McCutchen Bullard. She was also raised from an
early age by her father, Rev. B. B. Bailey. Mrs. Heflin was a graduate of
Noxubee County High School in 1961and was a resident of Artesia, MS, from
1963 until 1990. She was a long time member of Artesia Baptist Church where
she served as music director and
Sunday
school teacher. Mrs. Heflin later
graduated from Colvin's Academy of Cosmetology of Columbus and she owned and
operated Peggy's Beauty Shop of Artesia for many years. She moved to
Tupelo, MS, in 1990 and lived there until moving back to Columbus in 2011
and married Eddie Heflin of Columbus. Mrs. Heflin was an active member of
Canaan Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her sons, Louis A.
Thompson of Menlo Park, CA, Michael A. Thompson and his wife Lorie of
Tupelo, MS, and John D. Thompson of Greenwood, MS, and grandchildren, Gentry
Thompson, Whitney Thompson, Bailey Thompson, and Dalton Thompson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS, 39213.
