Una Rae Lewis, age 80, died Friday, March 26, 2010, at Homeplace Assisted Living in Columbus. Services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Harding officiating. Internment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Mrs. Lewis was born on April 1, 1929 in Valdosta, Ga. to the late Miller and Blanche Kelly. She was a 1946 graduate of Clyattville High School where she was valedictorian. She was a member of Kolola Springs Baptist Church. Before her marriage in 1952 she was a Bell South Telephone Operator for several years, and then a homemaker after her marriage. Survivors include: her husband Alton L. Lewis, her five children, Jeanette McHenry(Ken), Evansville, In., Glenn Lewis, Chandler, Az., John Lewis, Cape Canaveral, Fl., Sharon Anderson(Terry), Columbus, Ms., and David Lewis, Columbus, Ms. Three brothers; Charles Kelly, Ray Kelly, and Doyle Kelly One brother-in-law; Joe F. Lewis Seven grandchildren; Kelly Grimm, Bevin Baty, Casey Grimm, Mandy Anderson, Cory Grimm, Dylan Anderson, and Rhyan Grimm Three great grandchildren; Tyler Grimm, Anthony England, Bryn Baty. Family members will serve as pallbearers Honorary Pallbearers are Homeplace Assisted Living staff.
