Janie Mae West Egger, age 96, of Caledonia, MS died November 16, 2009, at Windsor Place of Columbus. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Caledonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Butler and Rev. Inge Halbert officiating and Memorial Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Egger was born September 29, 1913, in Monroe County, MS to the late O. M. and Bessie Edgeworth West, Sr. She was a graduate of Caledonia High School and formerly owned and operated R. E. Egger General Merchandise Store of Caledonia. Mrs. Egger retired from American Bosch and was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Egger, and brother, Bill West of Amory, MS. Survivors include her son, Bobby Egger (Linda) of Caledonia, daughters, Sue Bess Nicholson Chappell (Fred) of Caledonia, and Martha Jane Egger Halbert (Inge) of Caledonia, sisters, Eva Egger of Caledonia, and Katherine Pickle of FL, grandchildren, Phillip Halbert, Michael Halbert, Debbie Lawrence, Steve Huckaby, Cindy Goode, Matt Egger, Jason Nicholson, and Karla Nicholson, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phillip Halbert, Michael Halbert, Jason Nicholson, Matt Egger, Steve Huckaby, Larry Lawrence, and Barry Goode. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lee Loftis, Walt Willis, Jack Newberry, Johnny Gibson, and the employees and staff of Windsor Place. Memorials may be made to the Egger Cemetery Fund c/o W. M.
