Mary Faye Wootten Smith

Mary Faye Wootten Smith, 56 died Friday August 29, 2008 at her residence in Opelika Alabama. Services are Wednesday at 3:00pm at Brooksville United Methodist Church with The Rev. Chuck Carroll officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow at the Brooksville Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born August 8, 1952 in Brooksville, MS to the late Mary Jo Craig Wootten and William G. Wootten. She was a native of Noxubee County where she graduated from Noxubee High School as salutatorian of her class. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mississippi University for Women, and lived in Amory, MS , until moving to Opelika five years ago where she worked as Senior Mall Accountant at Peachtree Mall in Columbus, Georgia. She was an avid animal lover and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Sandy Smith, daughters LeeAnn Banks Carroll of Kuwait, and Kristen Banks of Atlanta, GA, and sons Tripp Smith of Hamilton, MS, and Jason Smith of Blue Springs, MS, her sister Susan Williams, brothers William Billy Wootten and Jamie Wootten, and eleven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Tripp Smith, Jeff Davis, John Craig, Mike Mills, and Chris Sullivan Memorials may be made to Lowndes Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
