Thomas G. Wallace - Thomas G. Wallace 62 died October 26, 2005 at his residence in Columbus, Mississippi. Tommy was born in Columbus on July 13, 1943 to the late Eddie Lee and Bessie Acker Wallace. He graduated from S.D. Lee High School in 1961 where he was a member of the marching band. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1965 in Political Science and then from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1968. Tommy served in Vietnam during 1971 where he earned a Bronze Star. After returning to Columbus he opened a law firm and acted as city judge from 1974 until 1997, and then as city attorney from 1997 until present. Tommy has also served Region IV Housing Authority, secretary of the Columbus Country Club, and various other municipal positions. He was also a life long member of First Baptist Church and of Dr. S.B. Platt's Sunday School Class for 25 years. Funeral services will be Friday October 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church with the Dr. Shawn Parker and Dr. Bobby Douglas officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home. Survivors include: Daughter: Katherine Davis Kate Wallace of Columbus, Son: Thomas Grady "Gray" Wallace of Columbus. Sister: Betty Faulkner of Memphis, Tennessee, Brother: Steven Wallace of Columbus, Mississippi. Pallbearers will be Dr. Joe Elsberry, David Shelton, Steve McKissack, Jimmy Graham, Bobby Patrick, Jimmy Galloway, Tommy Vice, Bob Taylor, and Chance Laws.
