Dorothy Yeatman Brown Dorothy Yeatman Brown, 80, of Columbus, Ms., departed this life on May 18th, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery with services at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbus at 11:00am, Saturday, May 20th. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the service at 11:00am. Dot Brown was born on November 29, 1925, in Natalbany, La., to Thomas Halbert Yeatman and Wilma Louise Price. Residing in Columbus, Dot worked as a secretary for New Home Building Stores 23yrs before her retirement in 1985. A long time member of Fairview Baptist Church, she possessed a strong Christian faith and was a devoted mother, wife, and caring friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Louise Yeatman; her sister, Virginia Yeatman (Graham), and her brother, James Yeatman. She is survived by her brothers, Tom Yeatman Jr. (Peggy), and Harry Yeatman (Lois) of Columbus; Her children, Marsha McGee Verrett (Jai) of Monroe, La., Carolyn Haney (Maurice) of Columbus, and Keith McGee (Trish) of Columbus; Her grandchildren, Jennifer Paden (Tom) of Aberdeen, Ms., Nicole Goodwin of Columbus and Dustin Goodwin of Columbus; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who loved her. Pallbearers will be: Jack Burks, J. B. Cox, Johnny Thompson, Tommy Wiggins, James Oliver, Phil Pratt, and Perry Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Frank Dailey and members of the Joy Sunday School Class of Fairview Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering through Fairview Baptist Church or charity of your choice.
