Dorris Mae Rickman Johnson, age 78, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at her residence in Columbus, MS. Funeral arrarngements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Monday, July 20, 2009 from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Services will be held Monday, July 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Speegle officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Mrs. Johnson was born Sunday, January 25, 1931 in Columbus, MS to the late Pervy M. and Eula Marshall Rickman. She attended S.D. Lee High School and was a life-long member of Central United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Albin Evan "Dude" Johnson, Jr., who died February 22, 2006 , and two brothers Lewis and Woodford Rickman. She is survived by her son, Albin E. "Al" Johnson, III and daughter-in-law Susan, Columbus, Ms; her brother Leon Rickman, Wichita, KS and three grandchildren, Allison Elizabeth, Charles Evan and Abbey Margaret Johnson, all of Columbus. The Pallbearers will be Eddie Rickman, Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, Emmett Boozer, Jerry Harris, and Del Mercer. Memorials may be sent in Mrs. Johnson's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, Ms 39213.
