Beverly Beatrice Clemmons, age 59, of Columbus, MS, died November 5, 2009, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Forest Cemetery near Ethelsville, AL. The visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home. Miss Clemmons was born December 8, 1949, in Columbus, MS to the late Virgil W. and Minnie Beatice Stewart Clemmons, Sr. She was a graduate of Pickens High School and received her BS degree from MSCW in 1972 and her BSN degree in nursing from MUW in 1978. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years in various places and was the former Director of Case Management at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, FL. Miss Clemmons was preceded in death by her brother, Virgil "Sonny" Clemmons. Survivors include brothers, Dr. Robert Clemmons (Carol) of Russellville, AL, Jimmy Clemmons (Jane) of Battlefield, MO, Larry Clemmons (Phyllis) of Columbus, MS, Ricky Clemmons (Rita) of Dallas, GA, Tommy Clemmons (Barbara) of Holly Springs, MS, and Glenn Clemmons (Mary Ann) of Richmond, VA, sister, Jane Clemmons of Pelahatchie, MS, numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to thank Beverly's special niece, Becky Childs, and the staff of Sanctuary Hospice House for their loving care. The family would also like to thank Dr. Fernando C. Malamud and the staff of the Panhandle Cancer Center of Panama City, FL, and Dr. Robert Darryl Hamilton of Jackson, MS.
