B.N. NEWT BOWEN B.N. Newt Bowen age 92 died Thursday, July 04, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Columbus. Services will be held Sunday, July 07, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Montgomery and Jim Crownover officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, July 06, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Mr. Bowen was born on Wednesday, October 10, 1920 in Lamar County, AL to the late Bob and Della Edwards Bowen. He was a member of the Steens Church of Christ, and a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He was retired from Mayflower Van Lines. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Gertie Stapp Bowen, and his grandson Cade Bowen. Survivors include: One Daughter: Jean Forrester, Tupelo, MS One Son: Pete Bowen (Edna), Columbus, MS Three Grandchildren: Kim Parker (Travis) Melonie Kight (John) Andy "Bubba" Forrester (Angie) 11 Great Grandchildren The Pallbearers will be: Bubba Forrester, John Kight, Jamie Forrester, Walter Tate, Justin Kenney, and Robert Bowen The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Melvin Easley, R.C.
