Gearl Wayne Greggs age 67, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his residence in Columbus. Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel Monday, June 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Minister Elbert Lee Wheat officiating; burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mr. Greggs was born in Covington, TN on May 2, 1942 to the late James P. and Laura Starnes Greggs. He had lived in Columbus for the past 50 years and along with his wife had managed Hardin's Superette for the past 15 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ruie, Paul, and Marion, one sister, Margie Dunn and 2 great grandchildren Timothy Ryan Greggs and Elijah Caldwell Marsh. Survivors include his wife: Faye Taggart Greggs of Columbus Two Daughters: Laura "Montie" Dulin (Ronnie), Oxford, MS Jodie Dye (Clint), Senatobia, MS Two Sons: Rodney Greggs (Michelle), Columbus, MS Ricky Hardin, Columbus, MS One Sister: Jean Honnoll, Columbus, MS One Brother: Billy Joe Greggs (Dot), Covington, TN 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildrren Pallbearers will be: Jacob Greggs, Chris Marsh, James Edwards, Stanley Taggart, Kevin Taggart, and Doug Hill Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roy Sims, Raymond Taggart, Charles Delk, David Hildreth, Edward Dvorak, Robert Smith and Jimmy Densmore Memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society1380 Livingston Lane Jackson, MS 39213or The Boy's & Girl's Club of Columbus 1809 14th Ave N.
