EVELYN SHARP Evelyn Bruce Sharp age 97 died Tuesday January 29, 2013 at Trinity Personal Care in Columbus. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 01, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. James Black officiating. Mrs. Sharp was born September 21, 1915 in Meridian, MS to the late William Floyd and Lillian Fulcher Bruce. Since 1934 she had been an active member of First Baptist Church, Columbus, where she enjoyed being in the Triple L, WMU, and the Senior Adult Choir. She was also a member of the DAR, UDC, and the Garden Club. Evelyn was a graduate of S.D. Lee High School and attended MSCW, now MUW. For twenty-five years she worked as a civil service employee in the accounting finance office at Columbus Air Force Base. She traveled extensively with John Robert Arnold Tours, and loved traveling with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Howard Lafayette Sharp, Sr., her brother William Floyd Sonny Bruce, and her son-in-law James Easom. Survivors include: Two Daughters: Lillian Sharp Easom, Brandon, MS Patsy Sharp Marshall (Jack), Columbus, MS Two Sons: Howard L. Sharp, Jr. (Juliaette), Columbus, MS Buford Stoney Sharp (Margaret), Columbus, MS Sister-in-law: Bonnie Backstrom Bruce, Vicksburg, MS Niece: Barbara Applebaum, Vicksburg, MS 10 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jack Marshall, Sr., Jack Marshall,Jr., Bruce Marshall, Stoney Sharp, Louis Sharp Ashley Sansing, Daniel Waldrep, Jason Horn, Dennis Meador, and Jeff Ainsworth Her family gives special thanks to her caregivers at Trinity Personal Care. Her legacy includes a deep love for her family and a profound faith in Jesus Christ. She was and will always be our most precious treasure.
