RUTH MILLER GREENE Ruth Miller Greene, age 80, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Services will be held Friday, December 11, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, December 10, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Mrs. Greene, a descendent of a pioneer Lowndes County family, was born on Friday, November 8, 1929, in Columbus to the late Wood Sylvester Miller and Irene Cooper Miller. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus, a 1947 graduate of Lee High School, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mrs. Greene was a receptionist at First Columbus National Bank for 19 years. She enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Millard Edward Greene, Jr., her sister, Louise Love, and brothers, Dick, Bob, and Billy Miller. Survivors include: One Daughter: Bethany Edwards (George), Victoria, MS Two Sons: Rusty Greene (Beth), Columbus, MS Eddy Greene, Columbus, MS Five Grandchildren: Ashley Balthis Susan Greene Baird (Kevin) Ed Greene Miller Greene Hank Greene The Pallbearers will be: Leon Speck, George Edwards, Kevin Baird, Kent Fultz, Del Pruner, Ed Greene The Honorary Pallbearers will be: Staff of Homeplace Personal Care In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O.
