David Todd Fishel, age 48, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 15,2014, at 2:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church, 7086 Wolfe Rd., Columbus, MS, 39705, with Rev. Mel Howton officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Ross Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Fishel was born September 28, 1965, in Clarksville, TN, to David Lee and Bettye Damron Fishel of Caledonia, MS. He was a graduate of Caledonia High School. Mr. Fishel formerly worked for Omnova for 27 years and worked as a safety coordinator for Glenn Machine Works. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball at Ola J. Pickett Park in Caledonia. Mr. Fishel was a loving family man, avidoutdoorsman, great father, and had a great smile. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Ginger Brown Fishel of Caledonia, MS, sons, McKellar Thomas Fishel and Morgan Robert Fishel, both of Caledonia, MS, daughter, Reid Elizabeth Fishel of Caledonia, MS, sister, Candace Fishel Frank and her husband Scott of Steens, MS, God son, Michael Todd Spears of Caledonia, MS, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Spears, Lynn West, Roman Brown, John Brown, Dale Conner, Marty Hanna, Scott Frank, Matthew Boyd, Michael Todd Spears, and Kenneth Sisson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Moore, Tommy Foster, Buster McKee, Allen Glenn, Steve Rye, David Blairy, Thomas Langford, Curtis Moore, and Bobby Bell.
