BROOKS S. JACK FIELDS On September 13, 2008 Brooks Jack Fields age 81, of Columbus was promoted to his heavenly home after a brief illness. A celebration service of his life service will be held at First Assembly Of God Church on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Derek Youngblood and Rev. Shane Cruse Officiating burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at First Assembly Of God Church 2201 Military Road on Thursday, September 18, 2008 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Mr. Fields was born on November 1, 1926 in Liberty Alabama to the late J.B. and Lucille Shelton Fields. He attended school in Liberty, and was a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Hawaii. He was the owner of Fields Construction. An important part of this life was his church, First Assembly of God, where he was a lifetime member, served on the deacon board, was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and was known as "the candy man" In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Floyd (Marcelle) and Houston Fields and one sister Lois Fields. Mr. Fields is survived by his loving wife of 58 years -Madge S. Fields of Columbus, Miss. Daughter-Beverly Lane (Greg) of Columbus, Miss. Daughter-Karen Wilson (Robert) of Katy, Texas Sister-Peggy Askew (Horace) of Henderson, N.C. step-mother-Della Fields of Columbus, Miss.
