Memorial Funeral Home Russell Harris Hensley, age 54, of Columbus died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Hensley chose to be cremated. Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 at Memorial Funeral Home. The son of the late Mervil James and Elva Tharp Hensley, Russell was born April 29, 1955 in Bossier City, LA., where he father was stationed in the Air Force. He graduated from West Panola Academy in Batesville, Ms. and enlisted in the Army immediately following graduation. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army as a Communications specialist, and he was stationed in Germany, Seoul, South Korea and at various Army posts in the US. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Diana Hensley of Greenwood, SC and his brother Timothy Dean Hensley and sister Cheryl H. Chadwick, both of Columbus.
