Nancy Freeman Jones VonKohn Columbus, Mississippi - Nancy Freeman Jones VonKohn, 73, died August 4, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, in Columbus, Mississippi. Mrs. Nancy was born August 23, 1931, in Macon, MS, the daughter of the late George Phillips and Annie Matt Jackson Jones. She was a homemaker. She was a devoted mother, wife, and sister spending 22 years as a military wife and more than 30 years operating the family cattle farm in West Lowndes County. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She married Albert Lipscomb VonKohn on February 14, 1951. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 6, 2005, at 1:30 PM from First Baptist Church with the Dr. Bobby Douglas and assisted by Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Body will be at First Baptist Church from 12:30-1:30 PM Saturday, August 6, 2005. Visitation will be Friday 5:00-8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus, MS is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Husband A.L. VonKohn of Columbus, MS, 1 Daughter: Sharon Sudduth and husband Jody of Millport, AL, 2 Sons: Jerry VonKohn of Lawrenceville, GA, and Lon VonKohn and wife Janet of Lawrenceville, GA, 6 Grandchildren: Teresa Reeves and husband Brian of Southaven, MS, Jason VonKohn of Las Vegas, NV, William VonKohn of Las Vegas, NV, Glenn VonKohn of Lawrenceville, GA, Alayna VonKohn of Lawrenceville, GA, and Drake VonKohn of Lawrenceville, GA, 2 Great Grandchildren: Shelby Reeves of Southaven, MS, and Kailey Reeves of Southaven, MS. 1 Sister: Annie Laurie Traylor of Columbus, MS, and 1 Brother: Bill Jones of Columbus, MS. Pallbearers will be Donnie Perkins, Elmer Higginbotham, Charlie Guest, Bob Farrar, Charles Perkins, John King, Randy VonKohn, and Larry Perkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Shalles Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Jim Seagraves, David Shelton, Sonny Shelton, Milton Thomas, Joe Reed, Paul Cockrell, and M.C.
