Mavis Clemmons, 76, of Columbus, peacefully passed away January 27, 2007 at the Aurora Australis Lodge in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be from 6pm to 9pm on Monday January 29 at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday January 30 in the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Pete Bowen will officiate. Burial will follow at the Millport City Cemetery in Millport, Al. Mrs. Clemmons was born on September 2, 1930 in Millport, Al to Murray and Lovie Fields Cash. She retired in 1985 from Seminole Manufacturing Co. after thirty-nine years of service. She was a long-time member of the Steens Church of Christ in Steens, MS. Loved ones already waiting in heaven for her are her parents, her husband, Will Earl Clemmons, her grandson, Brian Hugh Holdiness, brothers, a sister, aunts, and uncles. She is survived by her two sons, Ed (Debbie) Clemmons, and Scott (Tangie) Clemmons; and a daughter Linda Sapp, all of Columbus, MS; four grandchildren, Cheryl Ward Ferguson, Edward Clemmons, Aaron Clemmons, ad Michaela Clemmons, all of Columbus; and four great-grandchildren. She alson leaves behind a beloved sister-in-law, Patty Cash, and much loved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Aaron Clemmons, Michael Ferguson, Earl Shaw, Gary Moore, Herbert Tedford, Jr., and Victor Unruh. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brett Brown and his staff, all the special Angels at Aurora Australis Lodge, and the congregation of Steens Church of Christ. Mrs. Clemmons was much loved and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are rejoicing and praying for her journey Home.
