Mrs. Polly Swift Livingston, age 86, of Columbus, Miss., died Monday, January 21, 2008, at Collegeview Personal Care Home in Columbus, Miss. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Memorial from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2008. Her Funeral service will be in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2008, with Minister Larry Ferguson officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where Polly will rest alongside her husband., the late Herbert Lee Livingston. The daughter of the late John Dean and Edna Jane Hickey Swift, Mrs. Livingston was born June 19, 1921 in Columbus. She was the secretary and a saleswomen at Memorial Gardens when it first opened and was employed there for several years. She was also a member of First Christian Church. An avid duplicate bridge player, her love of and proficiency in bridge brought her many hours of pleasure. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Livingston was predeceased by brothers J.D., Dicky, Jack and Thomas Swift and sisters Mary Nell Swift and Nancy Robertson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Martin D. Livingston and Judy, her three sisters, Jewell Swift Lynch of Columbus, Ms, Anne LeDuke and Lois Giles , both of Baton Rouge, La.; grandsons Mark Allen Livingston, Brandon, Ms and Eric Matthew Livingston ( Kristin), Huntersville, NC and granddaughter Tracie Lee Livingston Woods (Earl), Clear Lake, Tx, and three great grandchildren Cody and Faith Livingston and Ethan Woods. Pallbearers wiil be Wendell Smith, Dr. Ramon Lott, Jack Carr, Bobby Proffitt, Will Robertson and Tooky Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Youngblood, Elizabeth Proffitt , Dr. and Mrs. Perrin Smith, and the Staff of Collegeview Personal Care Home, whom her family wishes to thank for their love and compassionate care for Mrs. Livingston .
