Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm. Mrs. Cash was born on February 10, 1932, to the late Clyde M. Kerr and Elizabeth Kerr. She was the oldest girl of 6 children. She had many different roles throughout her life, all of them supportive and reflective of her caring nature. She took care of her siblings while her parents worked, until she married and became a military wife. After her husband left the military to work for the railroad, she supported his endeavors, though it left her at home alone with two young children most days of the week. To fill the void of her husbands absence, she became heavily involved in the PTA while her sons were in school. Besides her love and care for her family, Mrs. Cash also loved being the secretary at East End Baptist Church and served for over 10 years until her retirement. She was a long time member of the Winsome Ladies Sunday School Class of East End Baptist Church and became known for being a fantastic cook; with her oatmeal cookies, copper pennies, and cornbread dressing being just a few of the fabulous things she made. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pap Cash, brothers Bobby Kerr, David Kerr, and James Hodnette, brothers-in-law Marvin Cash & Johnny Cash, & sisters-in-law Gladys Cash & Ted Cash. Survivors include: Sons, Phillip (Beverly) Cash of Pensacola, FL, Marty (Kathy) Cash of Columbus, MS; Sister, Adeline (Waymon) Finley of Columbus MS; Brother, Buddy (Mavis) Kerr of Columbus, MS; & Sister-in-law, Peggy Cash, of Columbus, MS. Mrs. Cash leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Tiffany Cash, of Pensacola, FL and Aaron (Karen) Cash, of Milton, FL. Mrs. Cash leaves four great-grandchildren that she loved dearly, Sarah-Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Tobias, and Wyatt. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins who will also dearly miss her. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Aaron Cash (Grandson), Jimmy Harrell, Jerry Kendell, Mel Sharp, John Hillhouse, & Curtis Prichard. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: The Winsome Sunday School Class, Office Staff, and Deacons of East End Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: the East End Baptist Church Building Fund. The Family would like to thank the staff at The Health Center of Pensacola and Covenant Hospice for all of their time, love, and care they gave to Mrs. Cash in her final days!
