BARBARA KOEHLER Barbara Warren "Bobbie" Koehler, age 61, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 9, 2011, at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Sam Morris officiating and Rev. Claire Dobbs assisting. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Koehler was born April 29, 1950 in Bethlehem, PA, to the late George Gordon and Edith Rea Warren, Jr. She received her undergraduate and masters degrees from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL, and worked for a number of years as a special education teacher. Mrs. Koehler was a member of Junior Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church where she served as past president of the United Methodist Women and was a long time member of the bell choir. Survivors include her husband, John P. Koehler of Columbus, MS, daughters, Jennifer Koehler Thomas and her husband Bert of Caledonia, MS, and Susan Koehler Aveline and her husband Rick of Greensboro, NC, brother, George Gordon Warren, III, and his wife Bobbie Ann of Tallahassee, FL, sister, Nancy Van Dyke and her husband Rick of Port Washington, NY, and grandchildren Savannah Rea Thomas, Aden Parks Thomas, John Trenton Aveline, Madeline Bayless Aveline, and Gabriel Warren Aveline. Pallbearers will be Jim Craddock, Jim Davidson, Robert White, Rick Garner, Lee Burdine, Dr. James Woodard, Tyson Graham, Nutie Dowdle, and Ken Kennedy.
