Hazel Buttigig Longino, 91, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. She was born August 4, 1922 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Otto and Edna C. Buttigig. She grew up in Lafayette, LA. She was married to Jacob Prince Longino for 35 years until his passing in 1981. They raised their four children in Clarksdale, MS. Mrs. Longino moved to Columbus, MS in 1990 to be closer to family. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Clarksdale most of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; daughter, Mary Jane Davis and a brother.
Mrs. Longino is survived by her daughters, Linda Murphree (David) of Tupelo, MS and Susan Kling (Jan) of Columbus, MS; one son, Bill Longino (Jackie) of Guntersville, AL; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale, MS with Gunter and Peel Funeral Home directing.
