Leo Fredrick Dusenberry, Jr., age 75, of Columbus, MS, passed away February 28, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Father Robert Dore officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Dusenberry was born May 27, 1937, in Zanesville, OH, to the late Leo Fredrick and Teresa Gaus Dusenberry. He served in the United States Navy for a numer of years and retired in 1992 from the Columbus Air Force Base Civil Service. Mr. Dusenberry was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Kemper County Hunting Club and was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marge Randles, Mary Randles, and Patty Robertson, brother, Dick Dusenberry, son, Randy Dusenberry, and grandson, Dustin Bush. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Dusenberry of Columbus, MS, daughters, Candy Westmoreland and her husband Max of Cordova, TN, and Angel Shelton and her husband David of Columbus, MS, son, Sean Dusenberry of Columbus, MS, brothers, Fred Dusenberry and his wife Wilma of Zanesville, OH, Ed Dusenberry and his wife Sue of Zanesville, OH, Ray Dusenberry and his wife Ruth of Zanesville, OH, and Vince Dusenberry of Akron, OH, sister, Frances Sherfy of Zanesville, OH, brother-in-law, Wayne Blankenship and his wife Sue of Columbus, MS, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Russ Flood, Heath Simpson, Tim Butler, George Bell, Al Bronder, and Ralph Hudnell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Kemper County Hunting Club, Dr. Mark Friloux, and the staffs of Family Medical Center, Northeast Mississippi Pulmonary Clinic, and North Mississippi Cardiology.
