Gilbert O. Spencer, III, age 50, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 1, 2013, at his residence. A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013at 1:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Tony Proctor officiating and with Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Mr. Spencer was born June 9, 1963, in Leesville, LA, to Gilbert O. Spencer, Jr. MD and the late Ella Mary Conrad Spencer. He was a graduate of Heritage Academy and Mississippi State University where he received degrees in Banking and Finance and Accounting. Mr. Spencer worked for a number of years for T. E. Lott & Company and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his father, Gilbert O. Spencer, Jr. MD and his wife Mary Lou of Columbus, MS, son, Tyler Spencer of Mantee, MS, sisters, Laura Ann Maxwell of Vestavia, AL, and Linda M. Ellis of Alexandria, LA, nieces, Allie Ellis and Morgan Ellis, and nephews, Charles Maxwell and Carter Maxwell. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
