Graveside services for Charlotte Lane Patrick Burson will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. MS with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Speegle officiating. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home will be in charge of her arrangements. Mrs. Burson , 92, died September 17, 2012, after a brief stay at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood, MS. The eldest of eleven children, she was born on September 2, 1920, in Latta, SC , to John D. and Elizabeth (Betty) Lane. Mrs. Burson, a registered nurse, served in the U.S. Army before marrying Pat Patrick and moving to Columbus, where she resided until moving recently to Greenwood. During her career, she was a nurse at Columbus Hospital before becoming a public health nurse at the Lowndes County Health Department, where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Columbus for over 60 years. She was a past member of the Pilot Club and the Business and Professional Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands, R.A. Pat Patrick and Donald F. Burson; brothers, J. D. Lane (Lois), Sherwood Lane, Herbert Lane; sisters, Ruth Lane Sessions (Dan), Jimmie Carolyn Lane; and brother-in-law, Gerald Lee. She is survived by her son R. A. Bobby Patrick and her daughter-in-law, Patsy, of Columbus; her daughter, Bethe Patrick Williams of Greenwood; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Randy (Juanita) Lane of Conley Springs, North Carolina; Doris (Louis) Brunett of Ball, Louisiana; Jean (Steve) Irick of Florence, South Carolina; Jo (Sam) Edwards of Florence, South Carolina; and, Mary Layton Lee of Florence, South Carolina. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Ethel Lane of Mullens, South Carolina, and Velma Lane Tennyson of Florence, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Garton, John East, Bunk Harpole, Bob Taylor, Ronny Harrison and Bill Conner. Memorials are requested to First Baptist Church, Because He Lives Campaign, P. O.
