Jo Elizabeth Garner Criddle, age 68, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 30, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Victor Bonner officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sullivan Cemetery in Monroe County, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013, one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Beth was born September 18, 1945, in Aberdeen, MS, to the late W. V. and Ode Rea Nunn Garner. She enjoyed gardening, playing Farmville on the computer, but her biggest joy in her life was raising her grandson, Derek. She worked at TIL in Aberdeen, the Hamilton Garment plant, Glenn's Plants in Gatman, MS and Caledonia, MS, and New Hope High School from which she retired after 35 years of service. Mrs. Criddle was a member of the former New Hope Baptist Church and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Denise Criddle, brother, David Garner, and granddaughter, Samantha Elizabeth Foster. Survivors include her husband, Loyd Earl Criddle of Columbus, MS, son, David Criddle and his wife Angie of Columbus, MS, grandson, Derek Criddle and his wife Megan, granddaughters, Kayla Tate and Savannah Beaugh, great grandson, Carter Lane Criddle, and sisters, Martha Toupus and Jean Malone. Pallbearers will be Derek Criddle, Tony Montgomery, Brad Montgomery, David Montgomery, Richey Brantley, and Chris Chism.
