WAYNE SEYMER - Wayne Bush "Tank" Seymer, age 70, of Columbus, MS, died May 29, 2010, at his residence. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Cliff Burris officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010, one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Seymer was born April 26, 1940, in Columbus, MS, to the late Leran Hill and Emma Wright Seymer. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus and was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School where he played on the football team. Mr. Seymer played baseball for the Columbus Redbirds and formerly owned and operated Tanks Tavern, Tanks Minit Mart, and E & S Bowling Lanes. He enjoyed following and participating in all sports and will be remembered for being a very generous and kind person. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Seymer. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Archie and Ashley Seymer of Gulfport, MS, and sister-in-law, Sue Seymer of Columbus. Pallbearers will be Ed Lott, Toby Lott, Randy Edmonson, Tim Upton, Jeremy Seymour, Sonny Collum, Otis Tate, and Ricky Lee.
