Dorothy Maxwell Mrs. Dorothy L. Maxwell, age 81, of Sugar Hill, GA and formerly of Columbus, MS passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010. Graveside services will be held Friday June 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until service time at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Maxwell was born October 8, 1928. She resided in Columbus until moving to Georgia in 2008. She was a homemaker, and a member of Columbus First Baptist Church She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray M. Maxwell; and grandson, Matthew James MacDougall. She is survived by: daughter, Brenda M. MacDougall, Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Heather L. MacDougall, Statesboro, GA and Kimberly S. MacDougall, Sugar Hill, GA; sister, Justine Hamrick, Columbus, MS; brother-in-law, Leon Gordon, Columbus, MS; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her dog Butch who she dearly loved. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of Dorothy L. Maxwell.
