ANNIE DAVIS - Annie M. Davis, age 90, of Columbus, MS, died August 30, 2010, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Amory, MS. Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 4:00 PM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Bill Benson officiating and Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Davis was born April 27, 1920, in Blackhawk, MS, to the late Robert M. and Hattie Galey Mims. She worked as a beautician for many years and was a member of East End Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her son, Emmitt "Mack" Leach, III. Survivors include her son, Jerry M. Leach of Aberdeen, MS, daughter, Greta Monfee of North Platte, NE, brother, Robert Mims of Columbus, MS, sisters, Evelyn Cosby of Newton, MS, and Forest Pettit of Seattle, WA, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Alzhiemer's Association, 1900 Dunbarton Dr., Jackson, MS, 39216.
