WARREN GERBER Warren E. Gerber, Sr., age 90, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 20, 2011, at The Windsor Place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home of Columbus, MS, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gerber was born November 14, 1920, in Bloomfield, NJ, to the late Herman and Freda Dunker Gerber. He was the founder and operator of Gerber Metal Supply Company of Readington, NJ, for 43 years, from 1963 - 1986 until his retirement. Mr. Gerber was a long time member and former president of Suburban Golf Club in Union, NJ. He and his wife, Doris, moved to Columbus, MS, from Stuart, FL, in 2005 and have been residents of Plantation Pointe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gerber was preceded in death by brothers, Herman George and Robert Allen Gerber, both of Bloomfield, NJ. Survivors include his wife, Doris Francis Gerber of Columbus, MS, sons, Gary L. Gerber and his wife Sandi of Pottsville, PA, and William E. "Chip" Gerber, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Columbus, MS, daughter, Gayle G. Peterson and her husband Evan of Ft. Worth, TX, brother, Richard Arthur Gerber of Brick, NJ, sisters, Joan Gerber Sansom of Fallbrook, CA, Janet Gerber Kain of Brick, NJ, Dorothea Gerber Westpy of Brick, NJ, Mary Perry Connelly of Asbury Park, NJ, Gladys Perry Forsyth of Brick, NJ, and numerous nieces and nephews.
