Mary Kathryn Perry COLUMBUS, MS " Mary Kathryn Perry passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie, MS after living a long, happy, and fulfilling life. Born March 13, 1926, she was the daughter of Will Lee Jones and Gracie Mae Hadley Jones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always had a smile for everyone, loved growing a garden, and cooking for her family. Mary Kathryn was a long time member of Freewill Baptist Church in Columbus. Mary Perry enjoyed years of working at McClellans Department Store in Columbus and finally retiring from Ruths/Jean Anns/ & finally retiring from the Fashion Barn in 2002 at the age of 76. Owners and employees of The Fashion Barn were Marys second family whom she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands James Shannon McBride and John Rufus Perry, her sister Annie Irene Mims, brothers Will Lee Jones, Jr and Joe Jones, and her son Larry Wayne McBride. Mary Kathryn Perry is survived by her daughter Mary Ann McBride Box (Jack) of Tupelo, daughter in-law Rita McBride of Columbus, Grandsons Tony J. Box (Sandy) of Tupelo, Rodney Box (Melissa) of Pratts, Wayne McBride (Betsy) of Columbus, Michael McBride (Theresa) of Columbus, Richard McBride (Valerie) of Caledonia, Granddaughters Catharine Jackson (Bubba) of Mobile, AL, and Amanda McBride Hayes (Shad) of New Hope. Great grandchildren include Mallory Box, Trey McBride, Bethany McBride, John McBride, Leah Boiardi, Hunter McBride, Jason Hayes, and Elizabeth and Brittany Jackson, as well as special loved ones Ed and Claudia Neely of Tupelo. The family would like to express special thanks to Rachel Leathers and the entire staff of Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie, MS. Pallbearers will be Tony Box, Rodney Box, Wayne McBride, Michael McBride, Richard McBride, John McBride, Trey McBride, and Hunter McBride. Visitation for Mary Kathryn will be at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home 535 Jefferson Street in Tupelo on Saturday May 11, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Sunday May 12, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at W.E. Pegues Chapel with Bro. Tim McMillen, officiating. Graveside services for the family will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery 300 Martin Lurther King Dr., Okolona, MS 38860.
