Wollie R. Stapp, age 64, of Columbus died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his home in Columbus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 5:00 PM " 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. The service will be Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel, with Tim Wilson and Aubrey Belue, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS. The son of the late R. L. Stapp and Mrs. Ferrell Honnoll Stapp, Mr. Stapp was born November 28, 1946 in Aberdeen, MS. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1964, and was a veteran of Vietnam. He had been self-employed as a cabinet maker since 1964. He attended and was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ and was predeceased by his father R. L. Stapp and his wife Nancy Sue Hielscher Stapp. He is survived by his daughter Melissa Stapp Parker (Benny) of Columbus and his son Wes Stapp (Kristi) of Louisville, MS; his mother Mrs. Ferrell Honnoll Stapp and sister, Yevonne Stapp Prewitt, both of West Point, Ms and sisters Dianne Stapp Holman (Joe) and Gail Stapp Culpepper (Carroll), both of Columbus. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Brody Parker and Emma Glynn Stapp and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ricky Williams, Brad Stapp, Jacob Stapp, Mike Stapp, Tim Howell, Allen Williams, and Ray Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Guin, Billy Gann, Dr. Brett Brown, Dr. Brad Brown, Sue Patrick, Billy Crossley, and members of the Hamilton Church of Christ.
