BENNIE HANEY Bennie Midleton Haney age 84 died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at The Windsor Place in Columbus. Services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Bonner officiating. Burial with Columbus Fire Department Honors will follow at Love Joy near Beaverton, AL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday October 18, 2010 from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM. Mr. Haney was born on Thursday, August 05, 1926 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Edna Haney. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a U.S. Air-Corp. World War II Veteran, and retired from the Columbus Fire Department after many years of service. Mr. Haney was known for his love of gardening. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Minor Haney, daughter Becky Diane Haney, his twin sister Mildred Stone, and his brother-in-law, Fred Minor. Survivors include: One Son: Gary Haney, Columbus, MS One Daughter: Tammy Dobbs (David), Cabot, AR Five Grandchildren: Justin Dobbs Ryan Haney Lauren Dobbs Laney Dobbs Heather Massey Three Great Grandchildren: Coty Welch Chelsey Haney Skylar Elkins Brother and Sister-in-Laws: Nell and Roy Grantham of Columbus, MS Ruby and James Minor of Steens, MS Ann Minor of Columbus, MS Pallbearers will be: Columbus Fire Department Honor Guard
