02/19/1941 ORVIN KILMER Orvin Clayton Kilmer, age 70, of Columbus, MS, passed away August 13, 2011, at Trinity Personal Care Center. Graveside services will be Monday, August 15, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Tony Proctor officiating and Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Mr. Kilmer was born February 19, 1941, in Columbus, MS, to the late Orvin Clayton and Viginia Locke Kilmer, Sr. He was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and attended Mississippi State University. Mr. Kilmer worked for a number of years for Mitchell Engineering and United Technologies. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kilmer was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Estella Williams Kilmer. Survivors include his sister, Joyce Kilmer of Columbus, MS, brother-in-law, Charles Van Williams and his wife Abbe of West Point, MS, nephew, Michael Williams of West Point, MS, niece, Laura Tinsley and her husband Brooks of Tupelo, MS, and first cousin, Elsa Eubanks Davis of Columbus, MS. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cork, William "Sonny" Lucke, Terry Jarrett, and Dr. Gary Kilgo. Memorials may be made to Cedar Hill Animal Sanctuary, 84 Sanctuary Loop, Caledonia, MS, 39740.
