Robert Clinton R.C. Rector Jr. age 90 died Monday July 30, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Services will be held Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Crawford and Rev. Tommy Gillion officiating, burial with U.S. Air Force Honors will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 until time of the service at the church. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rector was born on December 14, 1921 in Melborne, Alabama to the late Clint and Ola Hays Rector. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as deacon and was a member of the Ken Linton Sunday School Class. He was a retired employee of Sanderson Plumbing after 38 ½ years as the Shipping Supervisor/Mananger. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp. Veteran having served in the South Pacific. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his much beloved granddaughter, Sarah Fae Townsend, and his siblings, Willie Cele Cline, Avis Cline, Carrette Faulkner, Merle Zimmerman, Charles Rector, Selvin Rector, and Quinton Rector.
