Gary Arthur Milner, age 67, of West Point, MS, passed away July 9, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Columbus. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Milner was born October 26, 1943, in Many, LA, to the late Aubrey and Doris Opal Farrell Oden. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he served multiple tours in the Vietnam Conflict. He came to Columbus Air Force Base in 1988 where he worked for Dyncorp as a senior aircraft mechanic until 2006. He was known for his sense of humor and his knowledge of anything mechanical. He had an intense love of history and could not overlook a friend or stranger in need. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, driving his dogs around in his golf cart and being surrounded by loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy E. and Dennis Milner. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Linda Milner of West Point, MS, daughters, Cara Houston of Brandon, MS, Racheal Morgan, Elisha Stacks, and Larisa Milner of West Point, MS, sister, Karen Casebeer of Dixon, CA, brother, Randy Milner of Fairfield, CA, 9 grandchildren and 4 beloved dogs. There is a great void in our lives but not in our hearts.Truly a great soul was lost today; eve the sky wept with his passing. Donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 997 in memory of gary Milner.
