MARTHA SHERMAN Martha L. Sherman, age 92 died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her daughters home in Caledonia, MS. Funeral Service for Mrs. Sherman will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Mullins officiating. A Private Family interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon,Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Sherman was born December 21, 1920 in Columbus, MS to the late Martha Rebecca Swanzy and George C. Ludwig. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High school, class of 1939 and a member of Immanuel Bapitst Church where she taught Sunday School for the Senior Adult Ladies. She was a member of the DAR and worked for 29 years for the Prairie Girl Scout Council. In addition to her parerts, Mrs Sherman was preceded in death by her husband Jack O. Sherman; grandson, Mark Furnari; brother, George A. Ludwig; and sister, Dorothy E. Ludwig. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia S. Furnari (Ed) of Caledonia, MS; and Diane Heinz of Caledonia, MS; grandchildren, Lisa F. Cochran (Paul), Kris F. Nick (Chris), Amy Wages, Matthew Furnari (Jacque), Brian Heinz and Colby Heinz. Great Grandchildren, Emily & Elizabeth Nick, Victoria and Zeb Cochran, and Mark & Jack Furnari; sister-in-law, Lucille Cox Ludwig of Texas. Pallbearers will be Matt Furnari, Mark Furnari, Brian Heinz, Colby Heinz, Chris Nick and Jason Minga. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephew, Bill Frates, Sidney Thompson, Benny Edwards, Paul Cochran, Jack Gill, and Gene Coleman.
