DONNIE PARTRIDGE Donald Wayne "Donnie" Partridge, Jr., age 48, of Columbus, MS, passed away March 12, 2011, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami, FL. Funeral services will be Friday, March 18, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Ray officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. The visitation will also be Friday, March 18, 2011, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Donnie was born May 29, 1962 in Goldsboro, NC, to the late Donald W. and Joan Marie Stephens Partridge, Sr. He loved being an eagle scout and graduated from New Hope High School in 1981 where he enjoyed playing his trombone in the band. He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where he was in the band. He was in Landscape Architecture at Mississippi State University but had a change of heart and started his nursing career. In 1993, he earned his LPN degree from East Mississippi Community College and went on to earn his RN degree at Mississippi University for Women. He also earned many licenses and certificates through his nursing career. He worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle while earning his nursing degrees and went on to work as a nurse in many different areas of the hospital, including Critical Care and ER. He worked as a contract nurse in TN, NV, and CA. He was currently employed by Doctors Medical in CA, nursing was his calling. Donnie loved and enjoyed his work as well as his co-workers. Survivors include his daughters, DeAnna Partridge Howard and her husband, Bradley of Ocean Springs, MS, and DeLayne Partridge of Columbus, MS, sister, Renee Partridge Ambrose and her husband, Timothy, of Melbourne, FL, step mother, Cathy Partridge of Columbus, MS, nephew, Andy Hunt and his wife Stephanie, of Richmond, KY, nieces, Carrie Cerve of Melbourne, FL, and Shawna Ambrose of Melbourne, FL, and great nephews, Cody Hunt of Richmond, KY, and Elijah, Josiah, and Brian Cerve of Melbourne, FL. Pallbearers will be Ben Fones, Darren Beasley, Keith Brown, Christopher Steinman, Charles Shelton, Ralph Gordon, and John Sprouse. Honorary pallbearers will be the New Hope Class of 1981, band members, doctors, nurses, and co-workers at each place he worked. Memorials may be made to the McBee Baptist Church, Honduras Missions, 2846 Hwy 50 East, Columbus, MS, 39702.
