Miss Dora Viola Fromm, age 100, of Columbus, MS, passed away April 24,2014, at Trinity Healthcare. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Ron McDougald officiating. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements.
Miss Fromm was born September 4, 1913, in Ramsey, IL, to the late John William Fromm, Sr. and Carrie Miller Fromm. During WWII, she worked at the Columbus Air Force Base for a short time. Miss Fromm was a homemaker and lived on a dairy farm with her father and brother, Bennie Fromm. She loved her family, friends, and animals. Miss Fromm was a resident of Trinity Nursing Home for many years, and at the time of her death, had been Trinity's longest living member. She loved her friends at Trinity and the management and nursing staff who took good care of her. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Fromm, Walter Fromm, Bennie Fromm, and J. W. Fromm, Jr. Miss Fromm was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include her nephews, Mickey Fromm and his wife Margie of Columbus, MS, Paul Fromm and his wife Peggy of Oak Leaf, TX, niece, Barbara McManus and her husband Lloyd of Oxford, MS, many great nieces and nephews, and many great great nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Brett Brown and Dr. Brad Brown, whom sheloved dearly.
