LORENE ESTES - Lorene Callahan Estes, age 88, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 25, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery near Millport, AL, with Wayne Baines officiating and Gunter & Peel Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Estes was born May 19, 1922, in Steens, MS, to the late William and Bama Doris Callahan. She attended Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and was a resident of Trinity Healthcare where she was treated like family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her husband, James Christopher Estes, grandson, David Estes, and brother, Oncess Callahan. Surviviors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Theresa Estes of Columbus, MS, and Scott and Lauri Estes of Batesville, MS, daughter and son-in-law, Reta and Ramon Lancaster of Ethelsville, AL, granddaughter, Madeline Estes of Columbus, MS, sister-in-law, Helen Callahan, and a number of nieces and nephews.
