MARGARET BURDESHAW - Margaret Burdeshaw, age 84, of Columbus, MS, died March 7, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010, one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, with Rev. Rebecca Debow officiating. Margaret Burdeshaw was born August 26, 1925, in Mobile, AL, to the late John Houston and Maggie Mae Hollingsworth Burdeshaw. The family moved to Birmingham shortly after Margaret's birth. Margaret graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1942 and graduated from Judson College of Marion, AL, in 1946. She had a career as a bookkeeper having worked at Howard College in Birmingham, now Samford University, and Hygeia Coca Cola Company in Pensacola, FL. Margaret also worked for General Office Equipment Company in Austin, TX, and at Dowdle Gas Company in Columbus, MS. She retired after 42 years of bookkeeping and was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Burdeshaw of Columbus, MS, and special cousins, Raymond LeBo of Port Allen, LA, Linda LeBo Denicola (David) of Port Allen, LA, Martha LeBo of Monroe, LA, and Cindy LeBo Dore' (Allen) of Lafayette, LA. Pallbearers will be Steve McEwen, Nutie Dowdle, Graham Wells, Robert Spearman, Dustin Denicola, and Jake Denicola. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Judson College Capital Campaign Fund 302 Bibb St. Marion, AL 36756 or Love Indeed First Baptist Church P.O. Box 829 Columbus, MS 39703. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care provided to Margaret to Baptist Memorial Hospital, Dr. Lance Busch, Dr. Cameron Huxford, and the nurses and respiratory therapists of the Critical Care Unit and staff of the 3rd floor.
