Myrtle B. Watson, age 88, of Caledonia, MS, passed away February 2, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. David Westmoreland officiating and Rev. Glenn Edmonds assisting. The interment will immediately follow at Rowan Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Watson was born December 2, 1925, in Lamar County, AL, to the late William J. and Violet Hollis Brown. She was a graduate of Lamar County High School and she was retired from United Technologies. Mrs. Watson was a member of Border Springs Baptist Church and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Watson, son, Wayne Watson, brothers, Elton Brown and Rushton Brown, and sisters, Thelma Hedrick and Margie Hall. Survivors include her sisters, Ruby Wright of Vernon, AL, Dessie Bobo of Fayette, AL, Annie Grace Price of Vernon, AL, and Mary Joyce McGee of Vernon, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Memorials may be made to Border Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 399, Caledonia, MS, 39740.
