ANTHONY BIG SOLDIER Anthony Earl Big Soldier, Jr., age 43, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 3, 2011, in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, September 9, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 6:00-9:00 PM and Friday, September 9, 2011, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Big Soldier was born May 21, 1968, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late Anthony Earl Big Soldier, Sr. and Linda Faye Lollar of Columbus, MS. He was a graduate of Carrollton, AL, High School where he played football. He attended culinary arts school in Albuquerque, NM, and worked for many years in the iron and construction business. Mr. Big Soldier was an enrolled member of the Otoe Missouria Tribe of Indians and in addition to his father, was preceded in death by his step father, Sonny Lollar, grandparents Nathaniel and Magdalene Big Soldier and Frank and Lavena Bowen, uncles, Nathaniel Big Soldier, Jr., Tony Bowen, and Butch Bowen, and cousins, Sheila Day, Amber Dilley, and Frankie Bowen, Jr. Survivors include his son, Christian Alex Big Soldier of West Point, MS, mother, Linda Faye Lollar and her husband Michael Whitney of Columbus, MS, brothers, Donnie R. Parker of Guin, AL, Freddy Lynch, III, of Tupelo, MS, Adam Whitney of Columbus, MS, and Chip Lollar of Dallas, TX, sisters, Alisha Brown of Vernon, AL, and Autumn Brannon of NJ, Mother and Father-in-law, Faye and Bobby Dexter of West Point, MS, aunts, Lavern Hood of Columbus, MS, Shirley and Leonard Woulff of Del City, OK, Derenda Hunt of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jo Rita Big Soldier of Perkins, OK, uncles, Oscar Franklin Bowen of Columbus, MS, Chester Bowen and Donna of Mangum, OK, and Victor Roubidoux of Perkins, OK, fiance, Tamela Weathers of Columbus, MS, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
