Joe William Hill, Jr., age 56, of Steens, MS, passed away December 11, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 15, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. David Westmoreland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Hill was born March 8, 1957, in Louisville, MS, to Charlie Mae Walker of Sulligent, AL, and the late Joe William Hill, Sr. He worked for the Lowndes County Road Department for a number of years and was a member of Border Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Deborah Hitchcock Hill of Columbus, MS, sons, Billy Joe Hill of Stokesdale, NC, Casey William Hill of Sulligent, AL, Daniel Shawn Hill of Sulligent, AL, and Cory Adam Hill of Sulligent, AL, daughter, Allison Adair of Caledonia, MS, sisters, JoAnn Eaves of Sulligent, AL, Kathy Young of Steens, MS, and Lynn Short of Caledonia, MS, and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
