ROBERT BURNS Robert Dean Burns, age 53, of Columbus, MS, passed away May 14, 2012, at his residence. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Forest Cemetery in Ethelsville, AL. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Burns was born September 15, 1958, in Leland, MS, to the late Olan W. and Clara Ann Hearn Burns. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School and served for a number of years in the United States Navy. Survivors include his brothers, Wayne L. Burns and his wife Glenda of Columbus, MS, and Don E. Burns of Columbus, MS, and sisters, Nancy Burns Griffith and her husband William of Monument, CO, and Jerri Burns of Palm Springs, CA. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, P.O. Box 85, Columbus, MS, 39703.
