ALICE DUCKWORTH Miss Alice Kyle Duckworth, age 102, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Columbus, MS, passed away August 3, 2011, at St. Francis Nursing Home in Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. The visitatioin will also be Friday, August 5, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Miss Duckworth was born April 29, 1909, in Columbus, MS, to the late J. E. and Meacon Albina Shelton Duckworth. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School and retired from Seminole Manufacturing as a production planner after 40 years. Miss Duckworth was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus, loved gardening and flowers, and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include her long time dear friend, Mary Murrah of Double Springs, AL, and "adopted grandsons," Todd Murrah of Memphis, TN, Thad Murrah of Milwaukee, WI, and Kyle Murrah of Ft. Riley, KS, and several cousins. Pallbearers will be Todd Murrah, Thad Murrah, Kyle Murrah, Jim Hodges, Thomas Southerland, John Cox, and Adrian Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Hazel Hodges, Sallye Puckett, Joyce Bowman, and Loventrice Edwards.
