ELISE MASHBURNE - Elise Patrick Mashburne, age 82, of Columbus, MS died August 15, 2009 at Aurora Australis Lodge. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mrs. Mashburne was born December 18, 1926 in Chattahoocee, FL to the late Jessie Lee and Mattie Burkhalter Patrick. She was a graduate of Pickens County High School and worked for many years at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home as an insurance administrator. Mrs. Mashburne was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Mashburne. Survivors include her son, Henry M. Mashburne, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Columbus, MS, daughters, Phyllis Burns and her husband, Harold of Carrollton, AL, Sherry Courtney and her husband, Bob of Charlotte, NC, and Vickie Burris and her husband, Billy of West Point, MS, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. The family of Mrs. Mashburne would like to thank the staff of Aurora Australis Lodge for their dedication and respectful care of their mother.
