James Arnold "Jim" Seagraves, age 82, of Caledonia, MS, passed away February 8, 2012, at Care Center of Aberdeen. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Chaplain Danny Estes officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Seagraves was born November 2, 1929, in Pleasant Hill, TN, to the late James Dallas and Laura Mae Page Seagraves. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force and retired from CECO Building Systems. Mr. Seagraves was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed wood work and building bird houses. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Flora Grant Seagraves of Caledonia, MS, sons, Steve Seagraves, Sr. and his wife Denise of Caledonia, MS, and David Seagraves of Caledonia, MS, brother, Dennis Seagraves and his wife Diane of Cabot, AR, sisters, Jean Selby of Crossville, TN, Geneva Brady of Pleasant Hill, TN, and Lula Rice of Pleasant Hill, TN, grandchildren, Steve Seagraves, Jr. of Huntsville, AL, and Chad Seagraves of Columbus, MS, and great grandchildren, Wiley Seagraves, Wren Seagraves, and Wake Seagraves. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and employees of Care Center of Aberdeen, MS.
