VERA JEWELL Vera Hollis Jewell age 96 died Monday, June 07, 2010 at her nieces residence in Vernon AL. Services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill Cemetery, in Vernon, AL. Mrs. Jewell was born on Friday, March 20, 1914 in Lamar County AL to the late Shelton Pride and Ella Dobbins Hollis. She was a retired nurses aid at Columbus Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hollis, her daughter Martha Haynes, her son W.C. Hollis, and several brothers & sisters. Survivors include: One Son: Harrel Sansing, Sulligent, AL One Daughter: Jacqueline Morton, Nashville, TN And a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
