FRANCES GHITA Frances Gaines Palmer Ghita, of West Point, MS, formerly of Montgomery, AL, passed away July 31, 2012, at Waverly Care Home. Graveside services will be Monday, August 6, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Montgomery, AL, with Rev. Winston Brooks officiating. Gunter & Peel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ghita was born October 31, 1916, in Columbus, GA, to the late Walter and Etta Collister Gaines. She was a resident of Montgomery, AL, for most of her life and was a member of the Millbrook, AL, Church of Christ. Mrs. Ghita had lived in Hamilton, MS, in recent years to be near her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Benny "T. J." Palmer and John Ghita. Survivors include her sons, Ben Palmer of Hamilton, MS, William Lee Palmer of Smithville, VA, and Ted Palmer of Ashville, NC. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
