Mr. Charles Hardcastle Waldron, age 98, of Columbus, died Friday, October 5, 2012 at Grace Care Center of Northpointe in Tomball, TX. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. His service will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Sam Morris and Rev.Tony Proctor officiating. Interment with Masonic rites will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The son of the late Harry Neff and Emma Virginia Hardcastle Waldron, Mr. Waldron was born September 9, 1914 in Shawnee, OK. He and his family moved to Columbus in 1962 when he went to work for Mitchell Engineering, after twelve years of employment with Butler Manufacturing Co., Kansas City, MO as Buildings Division Manager. He began his career with Mitchell as Sales Manager and was promoted to Vice-President/General Manager, President and finally Division Chairman when he retired in 1982. He also served as Director and Chairman of the Board of CAGY Industries and The Columbus and Greenville Railway and as a Director of First Columbus National Bank. He was a member of the Board of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, the Columbus-Lowndes County Manufacturers Association and a Director of the Metal Buildings Manufacturers Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board and as Chairman of the Trustees. For many years, he served as a Board member of the Pushmataha Council, BSA and was a recipient the Silver Beaver Award and was an advisory Board member and former Board Chairman of the Salvation Army. He had a long association with the Masons, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners, receiving a 50- year pin from each organization in 1995. He also was coronated 33rd degree Mason in 2003 and Vested Scottish Rite Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in November, 1997. He was also a member of the Meridian Court 147, Royal Order of Jesters.+ He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Harry and William Waldron, his sister Juliette Waldron, his daughter Camellia Sue Waldron Nagel and his wife Callie Lorene McSpadden Waldron. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Ron V. Yates of Houston, TX, Martha and James Howard Geiselman of Gulfport, MS and William A. Nagel of Lusby, MD, five grandchildren Alison Mundie (Joe) of Ashburn, VA, Wesley Nagel (Kristina) of Charlotte, NC, Jon Geiselman (Polly) and Kris Geiselman, both of Gulfport, MS and Will Yates (Annette) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren Rachel, Annie, Paige and Ellie Mundie, Charles Nagel, Robert, Jade, Andi and Maddie Geiselman and Jude and Ethan Yates. Pallbearers will be Will Yates, Wes Nagel, Joe Mundie, Jon Geiselman, Kris Geiselman and Tommy Tate. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the F & AM Lodge #5, Columbus Shrine Club, Lowndes County Scottish Rite Association, and Charlies Angels, and William Threadgill, Ron Good, James Reeves and Mike Crowder.
